How to configure Booking Source

Modified on Sat, 18 Jul, 2020 at 10:22 PM

Introduction

Setting up lead/booking sources are useful in helping you track which sources are your strongest or weakest which can then be your basis for making business decisions of where to allocate your marketing resources depending on your objective.

These sources can be utilised on both the enquiry and booking forms

How to set up Lead Sources?

1/ On your iPro Dashboard, go to Settings > Sources:

2/ This will bring you to the Sources dashboard which will list down all the current sources on your account. You may see a long list of sources by default as this is brought in by our Channel Manager Integration. You can edit or delete sources here by clicking on the appropriate icon under the Actions column:

3/  To add a new source, click the 'Add Lead Source' button on the upper right corner:

4/ The Add Source window will pop-up:

  • Source Name - input the name of the source that you'd like to add

  • Show On Website - set to 'YES' if you want this to be visible to the guests online or set to 'NO' if you want it to be visible through the back office only

  • Commission Share - set to 'YES' if you are sharing your commission with this source or set to 'NO' if no commission sharing is required. If this option is set to 'YES', we recommend setting Show On Website to 'NO' so your guests can't choose it or would know that you are working with another agency

  • Commission Referral Fee (%) - input the referral commission % of the source. If Commission Share is set to 'YES' this will be the % split from your commission. In the example below, if you are earning £500 commission from a booking, £250 (50%) will be accounted for as going to a commission referral fee. Again we recommend setting Show on Website to 'NO' if you are utilising this field:

Once you are done, click 'SAVE'. You will now see the new source added to your Sources Dashboard:

How to use the advance commission referral fee feature?

1/ If you are paying a fixed commission referral fee, you can utilise the advance feature of setting a seasonal commission %. In the example below, the standard referral fee is 15% but from 1st Aug to 5th Sep, it goes down to 5%:

2/ You can add more seasons/exceptions by clicking the 'Add' button as seen above.

By implementing what you have learned from this guide you will be able to answer the following questions:

  • How do I add/edit booking sources?
  • How do I add/edit lead sources for my enquiry form?
