Guests paying via Virtual Credit Card at the sales channels
Introduction
Depending on the sales channels you advertise on and payment terms on your account, guest may be able and expecting for you the Agency, to take payment from the card details they provided at the sales channel at the time of booking. When these bookings are made a Virtual Credit Card is attached to that booking. You can "reveal" this information on that booking via the Rentals United Platform. Allowing you to input those details in iPRO and process a MOTO payment.
Prerequisites
- Channel manager account
- Advertising on Vrbo
- Advertising on Booking.com where you take payment via Virtual Credit Card
- MOTO capability enabled with your Payment Provider
Accessing the Virtual Credit Card information
1/ Log into Your Rentals United Account
- Click on the channel manager modal in iPRO
- Click on the "Log in to Rentals United" button top right of the screen
- Your Login details can be accessed via the "Connections" tab.
- IMPORTANT NOTE - DO NOT CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD
The password in iPRO is needed for the system to connect to the channel manager. If your password differs to what is in iPRO it breaks the connection between iPRO and the Channel Manager.
2/ Guest booking
- From the dashboard, click on Bookings > Your bookings
- Navigate to the guest booking by using the search filters. Click on the booking
- Inside the booking you will find the Virtual Credit Card details for the guest. To reveal these details click the "Reveal" button
- If the reveal button is greyed out like below and not clickable these details can no longer be accessed via Rentals United.
Rentals United can reveal the credit card details for 10 days after they are provided from the channel. Once this period passes, Rentals United will no longer share this information with you. If the guest has not been charged yet, you need to contact Sales Channel in order to get the data directly from them.
3/ Processing the Payment
- Using the Virutal Credit Card details you can process a MOTO payment against this card in iPRO by Clicking "Add guest payment" in their iPRO booking.
If you do not have MOTO capability enabled in your Payment Provider account you will not be able to process this MOTO payment and will need to direct the guest to your Make payment page.

Note:
If the "Reveal" button is greyed out, the VCC details are no longer accessible in Rentals United. VCCs are only accessible for 10 days after being issued by the sales channel. After this period, contact the sales channel directly to retrieve the data.

- Use the VCC details to process a MOTO payment via iPRO.
- In iPRO, navigate to the guest’s booking and click "Add Guest Payment."
