Setup SPF records to reduce SPAM reports

Modified on Fri, 16 Feb at 3:49 PM

Due to a high level of spam emails being sent there is a high chance that legitimate emails will end up in the spam folder of your client or potential guest.  To reduce this you should add an SPF record for your domain in the control panel of the provider where you registered your domain.  You need to select the option edit the DNS and add a TXT record using one of the examples below.

If you already have and SPF record set up then edit it to add details of the iPro servers by adding include:iproprod.com to the end of your existing spf entry.

Below are some examples of SPF records.  The correct one to use will depend on which email provider you use.

The following SPF Record will enable emails only from only our servers

  • v=spf1 mx a include:iproprod.com ~all

The following SPF Record will enable emails from our servers and GMAIL

  • v=spf1 mx a include:_spf.google.com include:iproprod.com ~all

The following SPF Record will enable emails from our servers and OUTLOOK

  • v=spf1 mx a include:spf.protection.outlook.com include:iproprod.com ~all

You can then test your SPF records with the following tool

If your existing email provider also supports DKIM then we recommend also creating a DMARC record in your domain.  This can be done by creating a TXT record called _dmarc with value "v=DMARC1; p=none;"

Outgoing emails from iPRO are signed with a DKIM key, if you would like to use a custom DKIM key from your domain then contact us.

If you wish to track your emails sent from I-Pro please contact technical support to explore options for 2 way email tracking.

Please use the following tool to correctly configure you SPF record.
